Net Picks - Woodland Inspired Prints for Boys
This week's Net Picks focuses on designs for boys. I have been loving the woodland trend that has been pretty popular for a while now! Personally I grew up and have lived in Hawaii my whole life so I have never experienced true forests. We have rain forests here (which I haven't experienced much of either) so the woods and forests with all the wonderful flora and fauna is very foreign and almost fantastical to me.
This week I decided to focus on prints and art that would be fun to either clothe a boy or decorate his room with. I love how these four artists created a variety of different works from cute to lovely and sophisticated.
Zanna Goldhawk - Zanna's work is gorgeous! I probably sound like a broken record when I say that I really admire artists that can work with tradtional mediums. Maybe it's because I have been relying on digital for the past decade or so and can remember how difficult it was to paint and get the effects just right. Please see her website for more of her awesome work!
Lena Erysheva - I really love this illustration by Lena! I could see decorating a room for my son around this piece. The colors are subtle, sophisticated and lovely. I couldn't find a website for Lena's work but she has a really pretty Instagram feed.
Paperchase - Isn't this owl adorable? I love love love Paperchase and truly lament that we don't have an easy one stop shop to purchase their goods locally anymore since the closing of Borders Bookstores. This illustration is actually from a letter set (the image is the back of a die cut letter sheet). Paperchase is truly on my client dream list!
Nancy Wolff - This is such a sweet print by Nancy! I can see it as a toddler crib sheet or a cute little onesie. I also think this would make a great accent on a boys' shirt (like a chest pocket on a solid tee). Nancy is an accomplished illustrator and designer who's artwork graces many different products including stationery, home decor, and clothing. Her website is definitely work a look!
